TUESDAY MORNING
On Tuesday morning I began my work experience at Canopi for the first time. I met with Greg, the founder and owner of
the buisness, who asked about my interests and things I had knowledge of prior to my arrival. I was briefly
introduced to the Canopi team over a Microsoft Teams meeting where I learnt a bit about how the buisness functions
in terms of the responsibilities each person takes up.
TUESDAY AFTERNOON
Prior that day, Greg assigned me with a task. I was given a few videos from the RLSSA (Royal Life Saving Society
Australia) that were previously filmed for a course revolving around DRSABCD and how to perform it on someone who
has become unconcious. My task was to not only shorten these different parts (DRS, AB, CD) into videos under 30
seconds, but to funk them up as though they would be posted on TikTok with the aim of appealing to and educating an
audience of 17 year olds. I worked on this for the rest of Tuesday.
WEDNESDAY MORNING
Wednesday morning I let myself into the office with a key that Greg gave me the day before (he wouldn't be
arriving on time due to his car being serviced). When he arrived, I also met Josh, who dabbles in design, mainly
graphic design, and coding (he's really good at both) and Ash (he's from Europe and his childhood home is
near alot of historical sites). I continued on with my RLSSA videos.
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
For lunch, I went to Coramba Pub with Greg, Josh and Ash where I got a chorizo and mushroom Penne (it was really
good). When we arrived back at the office, I once again continued on with my RLSSA videos, putting on any final
touches and having a look for music that would suit it. I was then told that the next day I would be trying out some
web design and coding to get a feel for it.
THURSDAY MORNING
I arrived at the office where I met Joshs' wife (she was very nice) and I went upstairs afterwards with Greg and
Josh for the second Teams meeting of the week. I had to tell everyone what I had been up to aswell the last couple
of days. I was then given a very informational brief by Josh on web design and how the software I would be using
(DotNetNuke) to make my website the next two days worked.
THURSDAY AFTERNOON
For lunch, Greg drove Josh and I to the Coramba store where I got hot chips (I got way too many on accident) and a
pineapple cake. When we got back to the office, I watched some Youtube for about 10 minutes before getting back to
my website, which I worked on for the rest of the day. I briefly went back to my RLSSA videos and added music so
that they were ready to be presented.
FRIDAY MORNING
Due to a car crash on the road to Coramba, mum and I had to drive along Eastbank Road instead where Gerg called and
said he would arrive at the office around 45 minutees late as he had a meeting. When I arrived I dropped off my
things and the case with the camera equipment I borrowed for a few days. I then walked down to the store, got a
mocha and came back to the office where I finally finished up my RLSSA videos and began working on my website again.
FRIDAY AFTERNOON
For lunch, I had some slices of apple and a brownie which I had made the night before. I gave Greg a few for him and
his wife. I then finished up my RLSSA videos and attempted to finish up my website but accidentally broke the
timeline I had made the day before.
